Hello from the Blazing World!
Earlier this week, I approved the final proof from the printer, and let me tell you... seeing it all put together was glorious.
Right now, the printer estimates I will have the book in hand by end of March, which keeps us on track for an April delivery. I will keep you posted if anything changes on that score.
Meanwhile, digital rewards will be ready to go out very soon, but it will have to wait until after...
ATL Comic Convention
Will Taylor make it to the Super Bowl?
No idea, but Mick Beyers and I should make it to the Georgia World Congress Center for the ATL Comic Convention with plenty of time to spare!
We'll have DREAMQUEST, NIGHTMARE THEATER, past issues of BBoF... plus CARMILLA UNBOUND and the whole FRIED/McComics Library.
If you're in the Atlanta area, come on by and see us this weekend!
More soon!

Happy New Year, all!
Quick update to let you know that inks were completed shortly before the holidays, and Julio has now finished with the colors.
Editor Frank Pittarese is going over everything now, and I'm sure he will have some notes, so after a short round of corrections while I finish lettering, files will be ready to send to the printer soon.
Once the book is off, we'll send out surveys and get digital rewards out the, uh, digital door.
As always, thanks for the support. We can't wait to get this book in your hands!

– Mon, Nov 27, 2023 at 12:58:17 PM
Happy Monday, all. If you're reading this message, not only did you survive Thanksgiving, you made it to the other side of Kickstarter's credit card processing window.
I'm happy to report that we only lost a small group of explorers on our way to the Blazing World, and you are one of the fiscally responsible group who will be taking the rest of the journey with us.
So: thank you!
Some important production notes...
Mick is currently inking the final three pages as we speak
Julio is about halfway through with colors
Lettering will begin shortly!
Look for surveys some time early in the new year, shortly before we send out digital rewards.
And remember, if you want a little something extra in your package...
If you back boththe BBoF and NT3D campaigns, we'll send you a little extra love. Just be sure to come here to leave a comment that says "Shelley Poe Stoker sent me."
So far we have slayed two stretch goals, unlocking the Evil Dead and Mexifunk posters...
...plus added a new story by Andy Nordvall & Don Nguyen and a double feature by PuppetMaster's Shawn Gabborin.
If you've already joined us, thank you!
And if you've been meaning to jump in, there are only 3 days left, so click any of the images above or...
Remember our good friends Kat Calamia and Phil Falco--who are kindly sharing their HAUNTING/Like Father, Like Daughter Crossover #1 with all BBoF backers at the digital deluxe level and up?
They are back on Kickstarter with their latest:
SLICE OF LIFE: Anime Action Adventure #1 is now on Kickstarter for 3 more days. Pokémon, Sailor Moon, Power Rangers, Dragon Ball Z and MORE anime tropes collide in this WEBTOON "Slice of Life" parody!
I love how they pitch it:
This 22-page action-packed Isekai oneshot is our love letter to Anime, Manga, and other Japanese media. Based on "Slice of Life" - our Webtoon series about a gritty anime protagonist, Lady Vengeance, who comes to life and has learn to live in the real world. A Reverse-Isekai, if you will.
So with this new-reader friendly spin-off, we wanted to do the opposite by taking the "Slice of Life" characters and sending them into worlds inspired by various popular anime series.
A Reverse-Reverse Isekai! Or, you know. just an Isekai.
Hilarious, heartfelt, and action-packed. Whether you're a veteran fan of "Slice of Life" or completely new to the series, this is the perfect comic for you.
As always with Kat and Phil, you know you're in for a great story, killer art, and a professional book. So if that sounds like something you'd like a slice of...
Back soon with more Frankenstein news. Meanwhile...
See you at the Nightmare Theater?

Our final Bonus Book is...

Now that I've had a minute to catch my breath, it just occurred to me that we're about to head into Thanksgiving. And everyone here at BBoF is extremely grateful for you.
We blazed past 350 backers in the final days our campaign, which means you unlocked another bonus book from our indie bundle, which goes out to everyone at the $10 digital deluxe tier and up.
So without further ado, here's...
Bonus Book #7
From the creative mind of Martin Copping, an Australian film, television, theater and video game actor, comes an exciting new fantasy horror graphic novel: KNIGHT!
In a world where there is more darkness than day, nocturnal creatures have become the apex predators and humans their prey. Humanity now relies on its knights for survival, but their numbers are few and the monsters in the night are increasing...
KNIGHT is a 48-page, full-colored graphic novel from the fine folks at Comics2Movies Publishing. If that sounds familiar, that's because this comes courtesy of writer Stephen Kok and editor/publisher Shaun Keenan, two gents whose latest exploits I shared with you last time out.
So thanks again for making this campaign a success. We are stoked to be able to share this KNIGHT with you...
FRIENDS OF FRIED
Before I go, the delightfully demented Richard Fairgray is back on Kickstarter with HAUNTED HILL Volumes 1-2:
Richard has graced all three volumes of NIGHTMARE THEATER, the horror anthology I co-edit, and I can't get enough of his work.
Here's how he pitches his latest:
It's the morning after the night before, and Eva has finally decided to go see her old friend Kevin - the one she promised to show her boobs to when they were 13. What she doesn't know is that Kevin's dad died in prison because Eva accidentally ratted out his drug ring to an undercover cop.
Now, instead of surprising Kevin with the boobs she promised him 22 years ago, she is instead flashing his kid during his father's wake.
Once again, Eva is in over her head and digging deeper to try and get back out. She's problematizing her way through each and every moment, certain she's right but unclear how to let people know...
It's great stuff, and this surrealist soap-opera about life in Hollywood ends in just a few days, so if you're as twisted as I am, hurry on over and...
OK, don't forget to fix those credit cards before you eat too much turkey.
See you on the other side of Thanksgiving!*

Thank you! + Next Steps (IMPORTANT)

Hello from the Blazing World --
On behalf of the whole team: THANK YOU!
This afternoon, you and 357 of our closest friends made BLAZING BLADE OF FRANKENSTEIN #3 a reality:
You did unlock an extra bonus book on our way to more than 200% funded (!), and I'll be back soon to tell you more about it, but I wanted to hop on as soon as I could to thank you again for joining us.
So: thank you.
You just made a really awesome comic.
What happens now:
Kickstarter has already charged the card you have on file. We'll send out backer surveys soon to get everyone's addresses.
If you got a message from Kickstarter asking you to update your payment information, pretty please do it fast! You only have one week to correct it, and we want you to get your rewards.
Otherwise, your work here is done.
Mick is nearly finished with the inks, and Julio is right behind him with the colors, so once the funds are sorted, we'll send out digital rewards ASAP. Then we'll send the files off to the printer, and we'll mail them to you--also ASAP.
As always, I promise not to bombard you with messages, but I WILL keep you updated on our progress so you know what to expect.
Thanks again!
Friends of Fried
Before I go, it's already tomorrow in Australia, so I want you all to say "G'day, mate" to some of our friends down under. Starting with...
BLOODSMITH: We Hunt Nightmares Issue 1 & 2
Publisher Shaun Keenan of Comics2Movies is one of my favorite creators on Kickstarter. He and his crew consistently put out great looking books, and BLOODSMITH appears to be no exception. Written by Morgan Quaid with some pretty nifty art by DavidSwartz, this is the tale of a 19th century bloodsmith & his companions, who use their curious gifts to stop the invasion of a darkling horde from the abyss.
Here's the full pitch for the book, which is now in its final 48 hours:
"Sir Idris Harrow, Bloodsmith, the independently wealthy nobleman, is called to the home of Lord Montague to investigate the apparent possession of a young boy by a creature from the Abyss. Harrow soon learns that this child is not the only victim but hundreds of others throughout the city have been afflicted by supernatural tumors, their minds and bodies supplanted by a cruel, demonic intelligence.
Harrow and his team (a mysterious woman named Tilda Abigail who shares a deep connection with the spiritual realm and carries a puppet through which she communicates, and Dane Flint, a gunslinger and tinkerer with a gift for mechanical wizardry) must unravel the mystery and stand against the forces of darkness before London is overrun."
Shaun says this is for fans of Hellboy, Van Helsing, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, so if you like your comics with tons of action, mind-blowing visuals, quality feel, and production...
Speaking of Shaun, he co-created Terralympus with Stephen Kok, and longtime backers have heard me praise this amazing science fiction graphic novel many times before. I'm thrilled that the dynamic duo is back on Kickstarter with this latest edition. IgorCicarni provides the spectucular illustrations, with greyscale colours from Wilson Anthony Go.
Here's the pitch for volume 4, a 50 pageperfect bound graphic novel:
"Earth is a distant memory and humanity now live on the space station, Terralympus. Senior Engineer, Mia's finds herself a prisoner of the space station, Hades. How will she get out? And finally . . . the revelation of what happened to Earth all those many years ago!"
All four volumes are available, so if you missed out on the past campaigns, this is a great way to jump in and get a big chunk of story. You can click the image above or...
