Hello from The Blazing World!
I've gotten a few messages asking when the next issue will be here, so let me say:

Issue 4 is coming to Kickstarter early 2025!
We are working to close the gaps between issues, which might mean a longer gap at first...but then they'll come at you fast and furious-like
Issue 4 is, in my humble opinion, the best script I've written for the series. VERY happy with how this one turned out, and we're looking forward to getting it into your hands as soon as possible. This is a biggie, and a major turning point in the series.

Prodigal Son Coming to Your LCS
Some important news broke recently courtesy of AMP Comics publisher David Byrne:
I’m thrilled that PRODIGAL SON is batting leadoff for AMP. One of the many things I’m grateful for this year is that David and the crew over there are getting this book wider distribution.
If you backed the Kickstarter a while back, rest assured that your copies have a different trade dress and smaller print run, so they are indeed collectibles.
But if you missed it, you can pre-order using the code below by December 26 and snag issue #1 when it hits comic shops on February 19!
DEADSKINS! 10th Anniversary Hardcover
Before BBoF #4 hits Kickstarter, we have a special release planned.
Ten years ago, Alexandre O. Philippe and I teamed with artist Leila del Duca, colorist Brett Nienburg, and letterer Charles Pritchett to create DEADSKINS!, a zombie horror western comedy for mature readers.
(Think “Blazing Saddles” meets “The Walking Dead.”)
We serialized it on our website, selling it for 99 cents an issue, and if my accounting is correct, we made about 5 bucks. Not quite enough to cover our costs…
So we put it on comiXology!
This pricing strategy didn’t go much better
Finally, in 2020, we Kickstarted a “remastered” edition, darkening the lines to bring out the beauty of our black, white, and red production.
We printed all five issues over three volumes, and at the time, each volume was our highest grossing campaign ever.
Now, just a few scant years later, we are nearly sold out of our original run of DEADSKINS!, so that means it’s time for THE TENTH ANNIVERSARY EDITION!
This hardcover collection will contain a full cover gallery and exclusive, never-before-collected bonus material.

Hey, how was your weekend?
Me, I spent a great few days in Chicago at C2E2 meeting some of you.
If you stopped by the table to say hi, thanks for helping us put a face to your name. It was a genuine pleasure meeting so many of you in person (who knew you all lived in Chicago?)
Anyway, I've always said that the best part of fulfillment is seeing the same names pop up over and over again, and this time is no exception.
Speaking of...!
I was able to get most of the packages shipped out before leaving for the con. Now that I'm back, I'm diving back in and hope to have them completed by the end of the week.

Books have arrived! + Backerkit Survey Smoke Test is live...

Hey, look what showed up late yesterday:
The books came out FANTASTIC, so, once again, thanks for making them a reality!
Now for the fun part:
Backerkit Survey Smoke Test is live...
What does this mean?
It means about 5% of you have already received your surveys.
Backerkit does the "Smoke Test" to make sure I haven't screwed something up, so if all goes well for the first 24 hours with no major issues, I'll send out surveys to everyone else.
(And yes, I realize I promised this for last week, but I always forget how complicated/time-consuming Backerkit surveys can be...)
Digital-Only Backers Can Upgrade
I also worked with Backerkit this time to make sure digital backers can upgrade to a print copy.
If anyone has a question about how to do this, please don't hesitate to shoot me a message!

Metal Covers are Here! + Surveys Next Week

Look what showed up at the Dream Factory last week:
METAL COVERS!
The metal covers came out beautifully.
Still waiting on the bulk of the run to show up at the office (estimatedto arriveend of March/early April), but it was a real kick to see this issue in print.
I'm currently Spring Break-ing with the family, but expect surveys to go out next week when I return. And hopefully by the time everyone gets their responses in, I'll have books ready to ship...
